  Renewal Training

   

  Renewal/Refresher Course

  Offered every first and third Monday of every month from 9AM till 2PM.  The duration of this course is 4 hours, plus the range time.

   

  This course is mandated by TDCI and is designed to maintain proficiency and professionalism in the field of private security.  The course consists of topics such as Liability Issues in the Use of a Firearm, Handling of a Firearm, Safety & Maintenance, Stress & Survival, and Range Safety and Procedures.

  Objective:

  The renewal course is administered to security professionals to maintain proficiency, and professionalism in the field of private security.  The renewal course will consist of topics such as Legal Limitations & Liability Issues In the Use of a Firearm, Handling of a Firearm, Safety & Maintenance, and Range Safety and Procedures.  Students will undergo stress and survival training, drawing and holstering the handgun, and the minimum course of fire.

  Security officers must achieve a minimum of 70% on a B-27 silhouette target

• Tuition includes targets and range fee.  Ammunition is not included.  The minimum course of fire requires 50 rounds of ammo, per gun.  Authorized guns and calibers by the TDCI are: .32, .380 (9mm kurz), .38, .357, .357 Sig, 9mm, 10mm, .40sw, .45gap or .45acp.

• Note:  Your weapon of record, or primary gun, must be used for re-qualification.  If you qualified with two guns within the last two years, and you wish to re-qualify with the same two guns, then bring both guns to be re-qualified with both.  There will be an additional fee of $20.00 for the re-qualification with the secondary weapon.  You must demonstrate proficiency with the secondary weapon by achieving a minimum of 70% on the silhouette target approved by the TDCI.
